What do migration consultants charge in Kerala?

Consultant fees in Kerala are rarely published and vary from a few tens of thousands of rupees for a single application to several lakh for a full permanent residence file with a family, usually paid in stages. Government fees, tests and assessments are always extra. Ask for the scope and the payment schedule in writing before paying anything.

Why there is no list price

Two files that end in the same visa can be very different amounts of work: one applicant with clean documents and a competitive score, against a family of four with a credential that needs a second assessment, a refusal history to explain and a provincial nomination to pursue. Consultancies price the work, or they price a package and hope the work fits.

What you can insist on is that the price is stated before it is owed.

What a written quote should contain

  • the visa and stream being applied for, by name
  • what is included: eligibility review, document checklist, form preparation, submission, responses to requests for further information, and follow-up until decision
  • what is excluded: government fees, tests, assessments, medicals, translations, couriers
  • the payment schedule, tied to stages rather than dates
  • the refund terms if you withdraw, and if the application is refused
  • who is handling the file

Warning signs

  • a "registration fee" before any assessment of whether you qualify
  • a single upfront payment for the whole process
  • government fees bundled into a package price, which hides both numbers
  • a guaranteed outcome of any kind
  • reluctance to put any of the above in writing

Our own answer

Our fee is quoted in writing after your free assessment and before any work starts, with the scope and the schedule listed. Government fees are shown on every programme page, paid directly to the government, and never marked up. If the assessment shows you do not qualify, there is no fee, because there is nothing worth filing.
