Is it easy to get PR in Canada from India?
It is straightforward to check and hard to predict. Eligibility is a published points test you can score yourself in minutes; being invited depends on your score against the cut-off of each draw, which in general rounds has sat in the high 400s, while category-based and provincial routes invite at lower scores.
The part that is easy
Canada publishes everything: the eligibility grid, the ranking formula, every draw's cut-off score and the number of invitations. There is no interview, no quota by nationality and no discretion in the ranking. You can know exactly where you stand before spending anything, which is what our free eligibility check does.
The part that is not
The pool is large and mostly Indian. A general draw invites the top few thousand profiles, and the cut-off for those rounds has been in the high 400s for most of the last two years. A typical profile from Kerala, aged 30 to 35 with a bachelor's degree, five years of experience and IELTS bands around 7, scores in the 400 to 460 range, which is below that line.
Where people actually get through
Category-based draws for healthcare, trades, education, French speakers and some STEM occupations invite at lower scores. Provincial nomination adds 600 points and makes an invitation almost certain. A higher language band is the single largest lever an applicant controls: moving every IELTS band to 8 or above can add 50 points or more.
